Federal Grant avaliable for travel agents
17 Dec 2020

2020 has been a tough year for many businesses but perhaps none more so than travel agencies and tour providers

With borders being closed and no sign of this changing in the short to medium term, this industry faces more pain ahead in 2021 at a time when hopefully most businesses will be experiencing a recovery.

In recognition of this special circumstances, the Federal Government has released a grant available to only travel agencies and tour providers – COVID-19 Consumer Travel Support Program. The one-off grant of between $15,000 to $100,000 is available to those businesses with an Australian Federation  of Travel Agents or other tourism peak industry body registration or have used one of  the eligible industry codes on their tax return. They must have shown a turnover of above $50,000 but less than $20 million in the 2019 financial year and must have lodged their 2019 tax return. Finally, the main requirement is the business must have received a JobKeeper payment for any fortnight in October.

Registrations have now opened and will close on 13 March 2021 or when the program funds run out. If you need any more information about this grant or any other potential COVID relief, please do not hesitate to contact us.
